HUMBERTO POIDOMANI

Humberto Poidomani was born in Argentine. For more than twenty years, Poidomani has developed an artistic career focused on ideological notions of social crisis, ecology, life / death, poverty, which he develops through complex work groups in sculptures, paintings, boxes, objects in sculptures, paintings, watch us boxes. He has developed prolifically on a diverse range of media: painting, sculpture, assemblages, installations, always with a free spirit that breaks with academic notions of traditional art.

In his painting, Poidomani works from small format to monumental panoramic canvases, in which he always shows his critical vision of the world. Create striking visual narratives of abysmal figures and scenarios interspersed with written phrases, transcribing your own thoughts or quotes and excerpts from related classical philosophers and writers that identify their artistic, ideological and socio-cultural positions.

In his sculptures, assemblages, installations and art boxes, he incorporates a dense compound of reused and found industrial materials to which he adds gestural and thick lines of texture and colors, intertwined with references to personal and literary words. Echoing the provocative stanza of “arte povera” and in a spirit of subversion, Poidomani creates absurd and comic superimposed combinations of wires, objects, rocks, fabrics with a high individual subjectivity. It points out the diffraction of our culture and the lack of utopias in contemporary times.

As the American curator and critic Milagros Bello points out: “Premonitory art as anticipatory art in which artists witness the development of a time, an event, a near era, and as such they show it in their obistics, it is an art go deep. In his works of art, Poidomani has foreshadowed and anticipated incisive current events. From his subconscious being, from this elusive realm, the artist has drawn the signs of our current society and civilization ».

Poidomani has presented his works in museums, galleries and art fairs. His individual exhibitions include, among others, a retrospective at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Salta, Province of Salta, Argentine; ECA Contemporary Art Spaces, Mendoza, Argentine; singles fr SCOPE NEW YORK MARCH 2019, SCOPE NEW MARCH 2020, SCOPE INMERSIVE SEPTEMBER 2020 at Casa Poidomani and at Curator’s Voice Art Project, New York. He has participated in numerous shows and art fairs. Live in Miami, Floride.
